Acro-Hyde™ Die Film
Acro-Hyde™, a urethane film, prevents die marks on a wide range of materials including stainless, aluminum and other polished stocks. Manufacturing costs will be reduced significantly because the film eliminates secondary polishing or having to scrap expensive blanks. Simply cut Acro-Hyde™ to length, lay it on top of the bottom die and secure one side with Double-faced Clamping Tape.

Below you will see an example of just how easy it is to use Acro-Hyde™ and how simple and effective it is. This urethane film was created specifically for the tool and die field. A natural concept for urethane’s properties. Easy to handle, robust, economical and results are exactly what you are wanting when bending metal. In most cases making bends in metal can result in a high scrap rate. If you end up marring up the edges / scratching the surface to something undesirable you will lose both time and money. Giving Acro-Hyde™ a shot will certainly change your mind. Please follow our small demonstration below and see for yourself.
This is a piece of aluminum-completely clean and un-marked on one side in a standard hand press brake with dies with the attempt to make a simple 90 degree bend.
Here is what happens to that piece of aluminum when it is formed without anything between the dies. You can see the die marks circled in red. Regardless of how clean your dies are you will mark the metal when it has been formed.
Here is the same piece of aluminum in the die with Acro-Hyde™ Urethane die film in place.
Look at the difference! Absolutely no marks in the aluminum. The Acro-Hyde™ certainly does it’s job when placed in the die. There is no difference regarding bend radius. The hard part is done, no clean up of the part and Acro-Hyde™ is ready to use again and again. Multiple and repetitive parts are easily made before Acro-Hyde™ needs to be replaced.
We stock Acro-hyde™ in all sizes listed above and ship daily. If this product has you interested and you think it can be beneficial to helping smooth out your press brake / metal forming operation please contact us to place an order today. Experience the difference!
